Long distance jump

The aim of long distance jump is to jump with the take off foot while hitting the take off board and to achieve maximum distance. Jumpers have to balance the following components: speed, technique, sense of space and rhythm and strength. They should have the power to be able to shoot out. Athletes who sprint before jumping can speed up and have relative weaker jumping power.

Generally about long distance jump

The athlete should lean forward, after a few strides he/she is in the full upright sprinting position, keeps accelerating through the board to convert maximum horizontal velocity into vertical velocity. The foot is placed flat on the ground and the knee and ankle are flexed to lower the jumper’s centre of gravity.
