Dominance
To have a wider overview of the meaning of dominance it is worth examining researchers’ and scientists’ theories. It is the disposition of an individual to assert control in dealing with over others.
In sports this notion means that athletes are required to defeat their partners and to win. To achieve these aims it helps if contestants have information about others’ techniques, strengths, weaknesses and abilities. Therefore professionals’ task is to plan the workouts of preparation phases. Naturally being and becoming dominant should mean that athletes adhere to rules (Dorka, 2006).
Dominance is also accompanied with certain behaviour forms and one of them is assertiveness.
