Age specific characteristics

The techniques of throwing start developing at the age of 5 in case of boys unlike girls. Most boys can throw from cross straddle at this age while girls use frontal standing positions. Boys use the skills and strength of their whole body, while girls use only their arms and torso. The main factor of being able to develop throwing skills and competences mainly depends on practice. Differences have been observed among genders as well as individuals. It is difficult to connect running and throwing phases. At the age of 8-10 the differences will be greater among boys and girls. Children by themselves cannot develop appropriate techniques (Farmosi, 1999).  Teenagers’ (between the age of 11-16) body weight and height significantly change therefore the differences among individuals and genders also depend on biological factors. It also means that the biomechanical conditions of motions will change. These signs appear in slower and lazier motions, and lacking tireless and readiness rigid and spastic movements and slower adaptive abilities characterise children’ life. The degree of individuals’ activity is in connection with their stamina and motivation.
