Fun Games
- Catching the hoop (the number of players and the hoops are the same. While running around the hoops children have to jump into the middle of their hoops on a command- springing up with one foot and landing with the other foot).
- The same game as described above but the numbers of children and hoops are not the same. A hoop should be caught on a command and who cannot get a hoop is given a task.
- Target jumps (forward-sideward).
- Catch and limp (hopping on one foot while the other foot is lifted up to the buttocks. The child who is caught will sit down).
- Children are guarding a pile of mats while hopping on one foot. Children who can climb up the top of the mats will be saved.
- Touching different things hanging from a ceiling while trying to jump up.
- Holding a balloon high up the air and trying to catch it while hopping.
- The Student who can touch many hanging things within the shortest time will be the winner (Murer K., 200).
- Using a rope (with a single leg, double legs, running forward, coming to squat position in place, to do exercises with double rope).
- Outspreading ropes in different places of the gym on various heights. Children try to catch each other.
- One or more “hunters” chase “rabbits”. If they can find shelter behind a rope they are safe in the house.
- Cock-fight on a single leg. The aim is to knock the others over so that they will loose their balance.
- Hopping while trying to catch the others (frog jump, lame fox, rabbit jump).
- Relay competitions with hopping exercises.
- Hopping snake: children are holding each other’s shoulders while hopping on a single leg. The child to be the first in the line decides where to go.
- Children are hopping on a single leg and for a sign/clap they will jump into a ring.
- A student is twirling a rope with a specified tempo and the other children will jump over this rope with various modes (double legs with high knees etc.).
- Russian dance – squat, altering legs.
- Pairs are in squat positions in front of each other with merging their arms meanwhile trying to knock over the others.
- Different jump techniques.
