Age specific characteristics

Children are fond of jumping as much as running but they do not practice it very often. First they should be offered different types of jumps while ensuring enough number of classes for practice. The springing up and basic jumping techniques should be taught. Most often students practise long distance jump from squat position and the leaping over methods of high jump. This sequence is logical as children will be equipped with jumping skills by practising long distance jumps as for high jumps complicated series of movements should be needed. Their skills and competences will develop quicker if they have the chance to try out some jumping techniques. Their workouts should contain one or two leg hoping, springing up, approach run and landing practices.
