The tasks resulting from the introduction of everyday physical education

The public educational institutions had to take the following actions prior to the introduction of everyday physical education: everyday physical education and its organization need to be indicated in the documents documenting the functioning of the institution, and personal conditions for the implementation of everyday physical education need to be ensured.

Personnel requirements for teaching physical education

According to the current legislation physical education can be taught if the following qualifications are present:

QualificationsYears
General teacher 1-4.
General teacher holding qualifications in a special course 1-5.
Teacher with a content area in physical education 1-6.
Physical education teacher with school qualifications on a college level
Physical education teacher with university qualifications
1-8.
1-12.
Trainer, coach, with 120 hours of pedagogical training as continued education afternoon classes

The public educational institutions had to accomplish the following tasks prior to the introduction of everyday physical education:

  • The distribution of subjects and the timetable had to be planned to include the increased number of physical education classes. Due to the increased lessons we had to reckon with the fact that the sports facilities (gyms, exercise rooms, outdoor sports fields, etc) would work with full occupancy.
  • In addition to the timetables, due to the increased lesson allotment, the schools also had to specify which topics they intended to teach over more lessons.
  • The public education institutions had to give parents, teachers and pupils full information about the changes in statue and in the obligations, as well as about the changes in teaching practices.
  • Contact with the local sports organizations.
  • The organization maintaining the institution had to be informed about the changes in statue, and in order to achieve the proper implementation of the introduction, they had to ask for subsidy to guarantee the personal and material conditions.

The introduction of everyday physical education meant great responsibility for the organizations maintaining the institutions, since they had to create the material and personal conditions necessary for the implementation of the program. It is therefore indispensible that the institutions be supported by the local governments.
