The disc cone marker

1 – 2 years

  1. The class is divided into two teams. Both teams receive more disc cone markers than the number of their members. Both teams locate the disc cone markers scattering them all over the game field, one team placing their disc cone markers in an upward position, the other in a downward position.
The goal: during a given time (30 seconds), which team can place more disc cone markers in a team-appropriate position.  At the end of playing time the disc cone markers of both teams should be counted – the team which managed to turn over more disc cone markers wins.
  2. Disc cone markers are placed in front of every team, at the same or at a different distance.  In a relay race, the first player runs to the first disc cone marker and turns it upside down, then runs back and changes place with the partner, who repeats the same thing, only with the second disc cone marker. Prolonging the game, the disc cone markers should be turned back to the original position.
  3. In a relay race, slalom with dribbling around the disc cone markers.
  4. The disc cone markers are places in the four corners of the gym, on the longer sides and half-way, more toward the center of the room. This way we can increase the distance when the room size is small.
  5. Pupils walk around with disc cone markers on top of their head, and perform various tasks (e.g. duck under a stand, squat and stand up, sit down - stand up, run ...)

The goal: during a given time (60 seconds), which team can place more disc cone markers in a team-appropriate position.  At the end of the playing time the disc cone markers of both teams should be counted – the team which managed to turn over more disc cone markers wins.
  2. The disc cone markers are placed five feet apart. You have to run over the cones so that 2, 3 and 4 steps are to be made between them.
  3. Pupils run stepping above the cones placed at different distances, using the same or varying number of steps.
  4. Running, the left leg is moving above the cones, placed at equal distance from each other, the right leg is moving on their side. The exercise is repeated with the opposite legs. In case we have two lines of cones, we can organize a competition.
  5. The cones are placed at equal distance from each other. In a relay competitions the first competitor runs to the first cone, taps on it and runs back. Then s/he runs to the second, then back to the first. From there s/he runs to the third, back to the second, etc. When s/he comes to the last cone, s/he runs back and is replaced by a partner. The same task can be performed without running backwards.
  6. The cones are placed at equal distance from each other. Pupils are set in pairs. One member of the first pair stands on the left side of the first cone, while the other member on the right side of the second cone.  On a signal, at the same time they start slaloming. The pupil in the back has to catch up on the one before him/her by the end of the cone line.

The goal: during a given time (2 min.), which team can place more cones in a team-appropriate position.  At the end of the playing time the cones of both teams should be counted – the team which managed to turn over more cones wins.
  2. We form teams; we divide each of them into two groups and set them against each other. We choose the number of cones that corresponds to the number of team members and place them at equal distance from each other. On a signal, the first players on two sides run to the nearest cone, turn it over, then run back and replace their partners. The following players run to the second buoy and back, etc. The task continues until all team members reverse a cone.

  1. The cones are placed at an equal distance from each other. In a relay race, the first player runs to the first cone, picks it up, runs to the second cone, places the first cone on top of the second, runs back and is replaced but another player. The second player runs to the double cone, picks it up, and runs to the next cone. S/he places the double cone on top of the next cone, etc. If we want to play longer, then, when all the cones are on each other, the next player runs to the cones, leaves one of them in place and places the remaining ones in the second designated location.  This way one cone after another return to their locations.  The aim is to collect the cones and put them back as quickly as possible.
  2. We place the cones at an equal or different distance from each other. On both legs players junp over the cones in such a way that one, two, three or four hops are performed between two cones.
  3. We place the cones at an equal or different distance from each other. The players hop over the cones up to the third one, and then they click the heels five times, etc.
  4. The cones are placed at an equal distance from each other. In a relay race, the first player runs to the first cone, touches it, and then goes running backwards back to the starting location. Then a/he runs to the second cone, than back, etc. When the last distance is is completed, s/he is replaced by his/her partner. The same task can be performed without running backwards.
  5. Walking on a bench, holding a cone on each palm, simultaneously working with your arms in and out, making sure that the cones should not fall down.
  6. Exercises strengthening the abdominal muscles in a boat pose on the ground so that you balance the cones on top of your feet.
  7. The pairs lie down, back to back. One of the members has a cone on his/her feet. While sitting up, s/he lifts the leg and picks the cone, then, while lying down, passes itt o the partner, who places the cone on his/her foot while sitting up, and then lies down. The practice is continued.
