The place of progressive step and step aerobics in physical education classes

The most sensitive period of the development of coordination skills and rhythm ability lasts till 8-9 years of age, after that period their upgradeability is greatly reduced.

The development of elementary school children in this direction is a must.

Gymnastic exercises carried out with music as part of the physical education classes provide a good basis for the development of rhythm skills, which can forerun step aerobics, and for the implementation of step combinations on a step pad.

In the NC (National Curriculum), the development requirements for lower grades of primary school include rhythm training, simple dance movement elements, the development of coordination skills, the development of correct posture, the development of balance, rhythm and space perception, and linking simple movement elements.

I recommend, by way of capacity development, that simpler progressive step exercises be used during the warm-up phase of physical education classes, while more difficult, more complex combinations of steps should be used during the main part of the class.

Before we begin the implementation of the practices, it is important to first introduce the children to the equipment device and its properties.
