Bombing with soft ball

The size of the playing field depends on the age and the skills of the players, as well as on the size of the hall available. The base lines are drawn 6 or 8 metres away from each other, and we put a bench on each. The teams are behind the benches. We put a deflated basketball in the centre of the playing field. Both teams get the same number of soft balls. We appoint a ball-boy from each team, who can enter the field between the two benches in order to get the balls. After the sign of a whistle, the players attempt to hit the basketball.  The purpose of the hits is to roll the basketball to the bench on the base line of the opposite team. The team that manage to roll the ball to the bench score a point. The winner is the team that score more points within the playing time, or first score the number of points that is determined beforehand.

Rules of the game

  1. The ball-boys must not obstruct the hits, and they must not touch the basketball.
  2. The throwing players must not enter the area between the benches.
  3. If the basketball leaves the playing field at the side lines, the game must be stopped, and the ball must be put back to the centre, in line where it left the side line, or the game can be restarted by putting the ball to the centre of the playing field.
