Small box ball

Description of the game

The basketball court is used as the playing field, and we draw a circle of 3 meters in radius on both sides, closer to the base lines. We put a small box, upside down, into both circles, and we mark the penalty line one metre from the circles into the direction of the centre line.  We form the teams and decide which team start the game by casting lots. The two teams take place on their own sides of the playing field, and the game starts by a throw-off. The attacking team try to approach the small box of the opponent, and to throw the ball into the small box, so that it does not rebound. If they manage to do this, they score a goal, and the other team take the ball and continue the game with a throw-off. The winner is the team that score more goals during the playing time.

Rules of the game

  1. We apply the rules of handball (rules of steps, time, dribble, throw-off, throw in, etc.).
  2. In case of a foul, we rule a free throw, which must be executed at the place of the foul (stepping error, catching, ball handling error, defending foul, etc.).
  3. If the foul is committed against a player throwing on the box, we rule a penalty, if the throw is unsuccessful.
  4. The goal is valid if the ball stays within the box. If it rebounds, the ball remains in game.
