The English Waltz
The steps of the English waltz are the easiest to learn among the contemporary dances. However, learning the steps is not sufficient to experience the captivating momentum of this dance. We also need to be pay careful attention to many small details. In order to learn the English Waltz we need to master three key figures which can be assembled in a short choreography. The basic step, also called square step, is followed by the advancing step, then come the basics of the quarter turn. But in addition to these, in competitive choreographies we can find numerous figures which are usually applied to make the performance more colorful and more interesting for the audience.
