III1.3. Fitness aerobics

Fitness aerobics is practiced in classes to music, led by an instructor who presents various exercises: skips and steps, exercises that improve muscular strength and general condition and stretches. It can be classified as a lifetime sport because it can be practiced by anyone from children to the elderly. Thanks to its variability it satisfies all kinds of needs and it is an excellent grassroots sport. Its aims are to promote physical fitness and aerobic endurance, increasing and improving the strength and tone of various muscles, stretching them and achieving the best body shape, and managing stress by promoting positive self-image. Thus, above physical fitness, it serves achieving and maintaining mental fitness and health.

By now it has become an umbrella term, as it gave rise to several autonomous versions. Based on the needs and expectations of the participants, now more and more exercises and equipment are available.
