III.2.2. Instruction

It is important to take the principle of gradation into account, concerning the load and the teaching of the exercises. It is best to teach basic steps, first without arm moves, then with some simple ones.  When teaching more difficult choreographies, leg-moves come first, then come the movements of the arms, and, in the end, the leg and arm exercises can be integrated. Combining arm movements and basic steps can motivate the participants.

When teaching new elements, the instructor should let the participants take their time to observe and understand the exercise, while walking in place or doing basic steps. This way, the work may be fluent. Beginner classes require the linear leading method, while advanced groups need gradual build-up.
