Shoulder-tag
Number of participants: the whole class, in pairs
Necessary equipment: tatami or carpets, stopwatch
Skills: reaction time, action time, space perception, free combat movement
Pairs line up facing each other in combat position.
Aim: to touch the shoulder of the partner with the palm of your hand. Who scores the most points in a given time is the winner.
Rules:
- Scoring is only allowed with a fully open palm.
- Participants should pay attention not to hit the other in the eye.
- Self-defense is allowed but only by means of evasion by movement.
Variations:
- This game can later on serve as a drill of the already learned defense techniques.
- We may play rounds in which the participants can only use one of their hands to score points.
- Touching the belt of the partner may be a variation in scoring.
