Footfencing

Number of participants: the whole class, in pairs

Necessary equipment: tatami or carpets, stopwatch

Skills: reaction speed, action speed, judging the distance, free combat

Pairs line up facing each other in combat position.

The stopwatch is set for 30 sec but depending on the age group this can change.

Aim: The aim is to touch the partner’s feet (thighs, ankles) with toes as many times as possible. There should be a designated area for the game, for example, a square (8x8m) or a circle. Participants are allowed to defend themselves or do combat moves. The participant who could touch his/her partner the most times is the winner.

Rules:

  1. It is forbidden to attack with the shinbone or the shinbone of the partner, to kick the thighs, to step on the other’s foot.

Variation:

  1. Arm fencing. The aim is to touch the arm of the partner with the arms. All other rules are the same.
