March 19^th, 1843: the first Hungarian rowing race
1861: formation of the first Rowing Sports Association at Budapest
some years later similar rowing associations were formed in other major Hungarian cities, too. For example, Szeged, 1870
1886: the first Permanent Regatta Committee formed to provide a homogenous code of rules for rowing races
1893: Hungarian Federation of Rowing Associations formed, first chairman: Albert Bedő
1893: first Hungarian championship
