Catch me if you can

Number of participants: the whole class, in pairs

Necessary equipment: tatami or carpets, stopwatch

Skills: reaction, muscle control

Pairs line up facing each other in combat position.

Aim: The aim is to reach out and touch the upper body of the partner as many times as possible with the back of the hand.

It is useful to use a stopwatch for this game. Who has the most hit points in a given time is the winner.

Variations:

  1. The pairs may try this game starting out from the same position but holding hands (closer hands clasp). Then the aim of the game would be to touch the partner with the farther hand. 1 hit/1 point. If someone withdraws the front hand, 1 point minus.
  2. A variation of this game can be when the different body parts are worth different points. For example, head/3 points, chest/2 points, etc.
