Fitness tests assess how close athletes are to meeting the requirements of high achievements. These test as it has already been stated support athletes to choose the most appropriate sports. The repeated tests follow up children’s development as well the effectiveness of their trainings. The outcomes of these tests indicate further examinations or change of training programmes.

Naturally the tests themselves are not enough to become successful athletes. To prepare for competitions the followings should be needed: deciding the types and intensity of trainings and activities, timing of fitness, nutrition and psychic preparation.
