Avoidant/Selective eating

Selective eating disorder is an eating disorder that prevents the consumption of certain foods and this behaviour lasts at least for two months (Nicolls and et al, 2001). Afflicted children exclude whole food groups and the unknown foods and meals. Selection may depend on the quality, colour, brand and place of purchase. They have not got body image disorders and children do not deal with their weight and body either. This disturbance is not due to cultural norms and previous bad experiences (Nicolls and et al, 2001, Bryant-Waugh and Lask, 2007).
