Monitoring pulse rate

  • monitoring basic pulse rate after load (for 10 sec x 6)
  • monitoring heart rate just after load (for 10 sec. x 6)
  • monitoring resting heart rate in subsequent intervals after resting periods
  • gymnastic exercises with a partner and measuring each other’s heart rate
  • doing sit ups and after resting 4 rhythm push-ups then both athletes’ heart rate should be measured
  • after different types of running (100 m, 200m, 400m, 1000m) heart rate is measured
  • heart rate is measured during sport games (e.g.: playing basket ball for an hour)
  • comparing heart rates while walking or running
  • durable running for 1, 5, 10 minutes – resting heart rates

1 – 4 grade

First task: everyone runs in an indoor hall, as soon as he/she feels that this exercise lasted for 1 minute he/she must stop and put up his/her hand (time detection practices).

2nd task: teams should use all the different corners of a sport hall (50 metre circle). While running 1 minute should be calculated on the spot. Two circles are covered so that athletes run back to the starting point (6km/h).

3rd task: teams are in different corners of a hall (50 metre circle). While running 1 minute should be calculated on the spot. Two circles are covered so that athletes run back to the starting point (6km/h).

4 – 8 grades

First task: A team covers a circle in 22, 5 sec. meaning 8km/h running. As soon as athletes have finished running their heart rate must be measured immediately, 15 sec x 4. Athletes with the same heart rate zone should put up their hands (90 – 110, 110 – 120, 120 – 130, 130 – 140, over 140.

Second task:  running around a 50 metre circle within 18 second (approximately 10km/ h). Pulse rate is measured after running and checking the relationship between heart rate increase and intensity (higher intensity – higher heart rate).

9-12 grades

Task: everyone must cover 4 circles so that pulse load should be between 150 -170. Heart rate must be measured just after running and rates as well as intensity should be evaluated.

All the children should know the relationship between their heart rate and intensity website
