The principle of healthiness

The principle of healthiness means that all the elements of body postures and motions have their exact name. This terminology and content are used, for example, by both athletes and gymnasts. Its use excludes misunderstandings and inaccuracy.

Naturally if any specific exercise or forms of posture lack the terminology then professionals have the right to find and label these forms and exercises with new notions and expressions. It may also happen that other sports will adapt this new terminology. We should bear in our mind that the development and change of gymnastic terminology is affected by the rapid development of sports science.
