Circuit training developing strength and endurance

This is the most common classic type of circuit training.  The target of physical education classes usually is to strengthen various muscle groups, to increase muscle tone. Because the rest period is short, or there is no rest period, this training method keeps the pulse steady, and so it has the stamina-developing effect as well.

In assembling the practices there are countless variation possibilities available.

We can perform the exercises so that in the first round we engage the upper body, while the second round the lower body muscles. Or we can follow the agonist-antagonist principle in a single round. Then biceps exercises can be followed by triceps exercises, or the abdominal muscle exercises can follow back muscles exercises, or the practices of developing thigh extension can be followed by exercises developing hamstrings.

If someone solely wants to increase stamina, it is advisable to add cardio-type exercises to the circuit training, or use the cardio or combined circuit training.
