Requirements and expectations specified for sports professionals when teaching gymnastics
Sports professionals should know:
- the aims, tasks, tools and equipment as well as the area of using gymnastic exercises
- exercises using and offering specific forms and movements in PE classes
- the role of gymnastics to develop condition, special skills and abilities and the levels where it can be applied within recreation
- the aims and methods of diversifying and combining exercises
- teaching and managing gymnastic exercises and knowing the methods of making students practice as well as enhancing their understanding of the rate of loading
- the products, tools and equipment that can develop condition and the rules and circumstances within which they can be used safely
- physical activities, their positive physiological effects and the negative ones in case of lacking exercises
- the terminology of gymnastics.
They should be able
- to analyze the impact of exercises that can support conscious and well structured planning
- to develop participants’ psyche and stamina
- to perform, show and imitate gymnastic exercises technically correctly
- to choose methods and forms of exercises depending on the given objectives, the individuals’ age and their preliminary trainings
- to design warm-up and relaxation exercises and activities that can develop coordination skills and competences
- to apply exercises in programs aiming to promote participants’ health and well-being
- to set examples of how to become healthy.
They should use figures and drawings.
