V.9. Speed coordination

The speed coordination is a concept which is mainly the quality control of the neurological manifestation of the movement. It examines the speed conditions under which the movement program falls apart. Its core is the precise and controlled implementation of action and movement under time pressure (Dubecz, 2009. p.125).

This ability is needed mainly where a response to the changes in environmental stimuli must be given as quickly as possible, such as ball games, martial arts.

It can be said that this ability is difficult to develop because of its great genetic limits. To develop this skill one must use the most practical age, which is young school age (grade 1-3). The movements can be refined at 6-12 years (Pavlik, 2011).
