The performance of the contact

The contact surface (as its name also indicates) is at the underarm, the ball contact is in the area between the wrist and the elbow. Because of the stretched state of the arm, the ball is forwarded from this area by a simultaneous and bouncing-off movement. The two arms are in front of the body, and one hand is fitted in the palm of the other hand. The palms, turned up, slide onto each other with the closed fingers; the player decides which hand is under the other one. The palms are placed on one another; the thumbs are closed, parallel next to each other, and point forward. The contact surface is enhanced by turning the wrists back and down, thus the stretched state of the elbow is provided. The contact surface is formed at the moment before the contact; the hands are closed under the ball like a “latch”, and are ready to receive the ball, and then to forward it.

The exercises of underarm contact are available at the link below.
