Dribble the ball

The possession of the ball for a longer period, without breaching the rules of steps and time, can happen through dribbling the ball.

The rules of dribbling the ball

While running or standing, it is allowed

  1. to throw it onto the ground, and to catch it again with one hand or two hands;
  2. to bounce it repeatedly on the ground (dribble the ball with one hand) and then to catch it again with one hand or two hands, or to pick it up.
  3. to roll it repeatedly with one hand, and then to catch it again with one hand or two hands.

However, as soon as the ball is caught with one hand or two hands, it must be played on after a maximum of 3 steps or 3 seconds. The dribble of the ball (throwing or bouncing it on the ground) starts when the player touches the ball with any part of his body and directs it toward the ground. If the ball touches another player or the goal, it can be dribbled and caught again.

  • The catcher has the ball; the fleeing players have no ball. The catcher, dribbling the ball, chases the fleeing players. If he catches someone, he hands over the ball to that player. As dribble the ball makes the movement more difficult, it is better to play it with several catchers.
  • The catcher has the ball; the caught fleeing players also take a ball, and they also chase the fleeing players, dribbling the ball. There are more and more catchers, and less and less fleeing players. The winner is the one who remains the last without a ball.
  • The fleeing players have a ball, and the catcher chases them without a ball. If a player is caught, he puts down the ball and also becomes a catcher. There are more and more catchers, and less and less fleeing players. The winner is the one who remains the last.
  • Both the catcher and the fleeing players have a ball. Everyone moves dribbling the ball. To distinguish the catcher, a ribbon should be used.
