1.4.2. Working with texts.

The European Commission states that for European citizens conversing in two foreign languages is a necessity. However, finding more time for language lessons in an already full curriculum is not easy, in this case CLIL can be a possible solution. The Commission sees CLIL as an important tool in helping Europeans learn two foreign languages in addition to their mother tongue. In the 2003 Action Plan for Language Learning and Linguistic Diversity the Commission listed CLIL as one of the innovative methods to improve the quality of language teaching.
