AIM OF THIS UNIT: In this unit you will learn about the art and life of the most influential lyricist of the Romantic period: poet, prophet, painter, printmaker, William Blake. His Songs of Innocence and Experience and his The Marriage of Heaven and Hell will be in the centre of our attention as perfect examples for the Romantic dialectic imagination (studied in Unit 1) while Vala, or the Four Zoas will illustrate the functioning of mythopoetic creativity.
