Fluids
Prerequisites
- the concept of shear stress;
- the concept of pressure and volume stress;
- the conservation of mechanical energy.
Learning objectives
By the end of this course, students will be able to
- calculate the pressure at a given depth in a fluid;
- analyse physiological processes in the framework of hydrostatics and hydrodynamics;
- predict changes in blood flow speed when the cross-section area of the vessel changes;
- interpret the relation between static pressure, height and flow speed.
